Inspirations and Planning

 Hi all!

Today's blog will be about how to convert your inspirations into your plans. This really depends on what kind of writer you are.

Most of my inspirations come from everyday things, such as music, something someone will have said or even the moon on holiday reading The Scorch Trials... I have a very vivid and colourful imagination and ordinary things go inside my head and come out completely extraordinary. Such as a black and green Winged Lynx that hangs from trees, like a bat, with two feathered tails.

Some people prefer to write a plan and stick to it, knowing all the twists and turns their story will turn out to have. Some write a skeleton plan knowing generally what will happen in each chapter. And some will just grab a piece of paper and write down whatever comes into their heads, like me. I am really no good at sticking to plans or writing them.

The easiest thing to do when you have an inspiration is to grab a piece of paper and do a brainstorm. Write down any idea that comes into your head, no matter how crazy, boring, ridiculous or irrelevant it is, it is almost likely you will use it later, whether it is for your current story or not.

The next thing to do is to try to put each idea into order, and create a plot. Do this in as many ways as you can come up with. Swap, Cut and Paste all of you ideas into different positions in you story until you are finally satisfied and Voila! Your have your Story off and on it's way. It also help to come up with Characters along the way (my favourite part), and to slot them into different places in your story.

If you like to know exactly what happens in your story, try writing more and more ideas (you guys will need a lot of paper), and slot them in different places. Keep going! You'll eventually get there!

If you like to write a skeleton it's easiest to try to estimate how long you want each chapter and how long each idea will last, then sort them into chapters and you're ready to go!

If your like me and can't stick to a plan, roughly sort the ideas into an order and write. Just write! it doesn't have to be perfect, I go over my stories at least five or six times to get the right sentences in the right places, and see were your story leads you!

I hope you found this useful! If not I'm sorry if it didn't but it's the best I could come up with!

Just Saying Hi!

Just Saying Hi!

~ The love of my life is food. Mostly Bacon, Cheese, Mango, Strawberries, Chocolate, Carrots, Potatoes, Parsnips... You get the Idea.

~ I really don't like horror stories, with an exception to Frankenstein and stuff...

~ Reading is one of my main pastimes. I love Sci-fi, Fantasy, Romance, Historical Fiction... Almost anything that isn't real (according to boring people!)

~ I talk a lot... Yeah.

~I am an amazingly awesome, Extravagant, Beautiful British Person who is extremely proud of their Britishness.
